Cracow University of Technology ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION FOR THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (F/M) IN THE GROUP OF RESEARCH AND TEACHING STAFF at the Department of Physics (I-2) at the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Physics

1. Essential requirements:
- holding a doctoral degree in a field related to the disciplines: materials engineering, physical sciences or related
- in the case of foreign candidates, documented proficiency in Polish at an advanced level, both spoken and written (at least at B2 level)
- English language skills at least at B2 level (both orally and in writing)
- documented significant scientific achievements, including publications in highly ranked scientific journals (according to the MEiN list)
- experience in implementing or co-implementing national or international research projects/grants
- possession of pedagogical qualifications or completion thereof within the first year of employment
- experience in working with students
- participation in national and international scientific conferences
2. Additional requirements:
- proficiency in programming in C/C++
- experience in computational modeling of physical and material systems
- knowledge of numerical methods used in materials modeling (e.g., finite difference methods, finite element methods)
- ability to perform computer simulations of liquids and liquid crystals using Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics methods, along with analysis of the obtained results
- familiarity with scientific computing tools and environments, such as Wolfram Mathematica
- readiness to conduct teaching classes in the field of computational methods in physics and materials engineering
- good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- good self-presentation skills
3. Scope of tasks performed/job description (responsibilities and entitlements):
- conducting classes and consultations with students in accordance with the CUT Work Regulations
- active participation in the scientific work of the unit
- organizational work of the unit
- other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor
The detailed scope of duties of an academic teacher employed in the research and teaching staff group is specified in Annex No. 5 to the PK Work Regulations.

- fixed components of remuneration in the amount of: base salary ranging from 7045,00 PLN to 7 500,00 PLN; seniority allowance depending on length of service, i.e., from 3% to 20% of base salary

6. Required documentation:
- a job application addressed to the Rector of the Cracow University of Technology (CUT)
- detailed CV (including previous employment history)
- photocopies of documents certifying education
- photocopies of other documents confirming qualifications or skills acquired
- certificate of completion of a teaching course, or a declaration to complete such course within the first year following employment
Employment will take place after a competitive selection process in accordance with Chapter VI. Phases of the Recruitment Procedure, OTM-R Policy, consisting of:
- analysis of the submitted documentation,
- conducting interviews (face-to-face or via instant messaging software).

Information on the results of the competition will be published on the CUT’s Public Information Bulletin website and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education website.
The submitted documents can be collected at the Office of the Dean of the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Physics, from 21st September 2026 to 25th September 2026. Documents not collected within this period will be destroyed.
Cracow University of Technology reserves the right to cancel the competition without stating reasons.
The result of the competition is not tantamount to the employment of the candidate (F/M) but is only a recommendation to the Rector. The final employment decision rests with the Rector.
