Position Summary

The Department of Special Education, Early Childhood Education, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions.

MSU Denver enrolls over 16,000 students, where nearly 60% are first generation and over 55% are students of color. Located in downtown Denver, we are a designated Hispanic Serving Institution.

Responsibilities

• Teach no more than 9 credit hours per semester in areas such as foundation courses in culturally and linguistically diverse education, multicultural courses, methods courses, and second language acquisition and assessment.
• For some courses, be available during the school day to supervise clinical experiences.
• Be available for consultation with students before and after class.
• Teach assigned classes in person or online, prepare course materials, grade student work, provide feedback, address student questions, and provide academic support.
• Maintain office hours and comply with university policies.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree or ABD status.

Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired on a per credit hour basis. Positions are dependent on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates will teach in person and/or on campus.
