Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing the overall provision of custodial services for the University. This position is designated by the University as Essential Personnel. Some overtime and weekend work may be required.
Responsibilities
- Trains, assigns, directs, and schedules staff; provide supervision and assists with performance evaluations.
- Monitors building assignments and adjustments as needed.
- Ensures compliance with all University policies and procedures.
- Inspects facilities and furnishings for cleaning needs.
- Respond to University requests promptly.
- Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Works with the Physical Plant Department on ordering inventory.
- Issues keys to custodial personnel; maintains key inventory records.
- Performs cleaning duties in assigned buildings, classrooms, and restrooms.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- More than 5 years of related experience
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to report to work on time and be dependable in attendance.
- A current, valid driver's license is preferred
- Must be able to pass a background check

- Knowledge of the materials, equipment, and methods used in the custodial maintenance of public buildings.
- Knowledge of the operation of a variety of custodial equipment.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles.

- Skill in training and supervising personnel.
- Skill in decision- making and problem- solving.
- Skill in effective communication with others.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
