"Custodian III (Evening)"

Job Summary

Assists the supervisor in training custodians in the use of all cleaning equipment and procedures for carpet shampooing, stripping and waxing all composition tiles. Performs a wide variety of routine duties of campus buildings which includes, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuum cleaning, dusting tasks and changing of light bulbs. Performs special custodial assignments which includes shampooing of carpets, stripping, waxing and spray buffing of floors and stairwells. Maintains rest rooms which includes cleaning of sinks, fixtures, toilets and mirrors. Replenishes towels, tissues and soap dispensers. Empties trash receptacles. Performs recycling duties when necessary. Cleans Entrances to buildings. Includes glass on entrance doors and exterior areas to buildings. Polices areas around buildings for litter. Performs work orders assigned by the Custodial Supervisor which are associated with assisting the day custodial staff with set ups of special events and college activities. Clears snow and ice from entrance ways, walkways, patios and steps. Performs other duties as assigned which may include, but not limited to, custodial tasks. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, push and reach. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications - Education

High school graduate or equivalency desirable

Qualifications - Experience

1-3 years experience in custodial maintenance
