Custodian

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining proper levels of cleanliness in assigned areas.

Essential Functions:

• Maintains carpet, and hard surface floors.
• Dusts and polishes furniture.
• Washes walls and removes trash.
• Relamps and cleans windows.
• Cleans and stocks restrooms.
• Performs special event set-up during the week and for weekend events when necessary.
• Supports campus wide activities in the areas of setup, snow and ice removal and any other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00 am - 10:00 am. This position works 40 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
• Experience in a custodial role is preferred.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written directions and provide responses in writing.
• This position requires the possession and maintenance of a valid Virginia vehicle operator's license and a good driving record.
• Must be able to pass an extensive background check.

Working Conditions:

The worker is subject to vibration, hazards, and oils.

Types of Work: Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Minimum Pay: $19.19 - Pay Commensurate with Experience
