Custodian (Night Shift/3rd Shift)

Position Summary

Under the moderate direction of a supervisor, performs general cleaning duties within dormitory, office, and other public facilities areas.

Typical Job Duties

• Pick up and dispose of trash, to include the proper handling of recyclable materials.
• Dusts, sweeps, and/or dry mops.
• Wet mops and/or spot mops.
• Operates walk-behind or ride-on floor machine, wet vac, & carpet extractor.
• Cleans glass: All inside areas that can be safely reached. All entrance glass, including doors, inside and out.
• Sanitizes washrooms, showers, and toilet facilities (dormitories only).
• Fills all dispensers in restrooms.
• Vacuums and cleans carpets and walk-off mats.
• Washes walls, woodwork, light fixtures, inside of windows, and other glass.
• Removes snow and ice and cleans and/or picks up debris around entrances and fire exits.
• Reports to immediate supervisor damage and/or malfunction of equipment.
