You know your way around scrubbers, buffers, and carpet extractors, and when something breaks, you don’t just report it, you help fix it. You research parts and coordinate repairs to keep our custodial equipment running like a dream.

Job Summary
Performs specialized custodial services, such as maintenance and repair of custodial equipment, floor cleaning and finishing equipment, carpet and upholstery maintenance equipment.
Essential Functions
Maintains and performs minor repairs on custodial equipment, such as vacuums, floor and carpet cleaners, etc. Completes basic maintenance on floor care equipment.
Researches sources and specifications to order parts for equipment repair and maintenance.
Performs specialized custodial services such as floor cleaning and finishing, carpet and upholstery maintenance, cleaning building furnishings and/or procedures using specialty cleaning chemicals.
Utilizes cleaning machinery such as scrubbers, buffers, and carpet extractors for floor care maintenance.
Provides all floor care services including strip, wax, carpet cleaning and may provide disaster recovery for affected flooring.
Cleans and services assigned areas in University buildings and maintains sufficient stock and supplies for the proper performance of these duties.
Shovels and removes snow and ice from designated areas such as roofs, sidewalks and entryways as required.

Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in custodial equipment repair
- Valid Driver's License
- Knowledge of operation and care of equipment, including, but not limited to: vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines, and other janitorial equipment.
