Custodial Operations
Job Summary
Perform cleaning services for University facilities following established procedures and guidelines in maintenance of buildings, classrooms, offices, lavatories and restrooms. Conduct cleaning of assigned areas, furnishings and equipment using manual tools and electrically-powered machines.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms using established practices and procedures
- Clean, dust, wipe, and polish furniture and building furnishings, including moving items as needed
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and perform specialized floor care such as stripping, buffing, and applying sealers/finishes
- Empty, clean, and replace wastebaskets and trash containers
- Wash interior and exterior windows, blinds, and clean interior walls, removing adhesives, tacks, and graffiti
- Remove recyclable materials from assigned areas and transport them to designated recycling dumpsters
- Replace light bulbs as needed
- Assist with setup and breakdown of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events
- Lock and unlock buildings, secure facilities, check doors and windows, and report unauthorized occupants
- Follow safety instructions for chemical and supply use and assist with inventory control
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent

- One (1) year of related work experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to operate a University vehicle
Proposed Salary
$15.84 - $17.24 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
