Position, Department: Customer Service Lead, Operations
Type of Position: Part-time Regular, Non-Exempt
Work Schedule, Hours per week: Varies depending on department needs, 25 hours per week
Pay Range: $18.22-$23.31 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Answer phones; provide general bookstore information and sales support for high volume retail operation. Assist customers with purchases, operate cash register and assist with data entry. Receive, price, and stock merchandise. Preform operational duties at buyback and rental check-in at end of semesters. Take part in cyclical and fiscal physical inventory.
Required Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- One year of retail cashier experience.
- Successful candidate must be dependable, organized, detail-oriented team member with the ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
FLOOR LEADERSHIP - Provide assistance and direction to the bookstore floor staff:
- a. Bookstore floor staff is productive and attentive to customer needs.
- b. Floor staff is provided daily tasks.
- c. Open/Close duties reflective of business hours.
- d. Book advance, athletics, scholarship, third-party, Kansas Promise, and all other forms of student aid are coordinated with financial aid and/or relevant department.
- e. Escalated customer issues are resolved.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES - To provide assistance and support with all aspects of the bookstore operations to the bookstore staff, college faculty and staff members, students and local patrons.
- a. First line of customer contact with the JCCC Bookstore. Greet customers in a friendly manner.
- b. Perform cashiering duties: returns, exchanges, inner-account transfers and technology purchases.
- c. Work a buyback window during buyback 3 times a year.
- d. Participate in cyclical and fiscal physical inventories.
- e. Ability to complete detailed work accurately, communicate effectively, prioritize, and have organizational skills.
SALES FLOOR MAINTAINENCE - Ensure the sales floor stays clean, organized, and professional.
- a. Accurately place created shelf tags on merchandise shelves per inventory management system.
- b. Stock shelves, check in orders, and provide sales floor assistance as needed.
- c. Ensure assigned area is stocked faced and professional.
- d. Provide assistance to customers.
- e. Maintain knowledge of the different items sold in the Bookstore in order to help customers with their purchases.
Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity, may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Scheduling, shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.
