"Data Analyst"

Position Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Data Analyst for the Office of Information Technology (OIT) – Health Sciences IT. This position reports to the Assistant Director – Data Analytics, Research, and Reporting for the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. The Data Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support to the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine customer base.

Key Duties

• Adapts quickly to comprehend each health client's unique business and operational constraints and needs and resolve those challenges, employing data analysis expertise to create solutions through the application of appropriate analytical techniques and methods.
• Develops lasting technical solutions that leverage prevailing analytical tools, including Power BI and Excel with a focus on effective integration and sustainability.
• Produces data visualizations that provide insight into data set structure and meaning.
• Works with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify important information in raw data and develop solutions that extract this information from a variety of data formats, including SQL tables and structured metadata.
• Develops and implements statistical, machine learning, and heuristic techniques to create descriptive and predictive analytics.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a Health-related discipline, Math, Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science or related field, and at least three (3) years of experience in information services with a preference given to candidates from a Higher Education or Healthcare environment; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. Visual acuity to perform activities such as: viewing a computer terminal, reading, analyzing written information/data, etc. Office environment. Moderate noise.
