Job Responsibilities

This analyst will work under the guidance of investigator in the Center for Biomedical image Computing and Analytics (www.cbica.upenn.edu, CBICA), Aris Sotiras, PhD. The work involves testing, validating and extending advanced image processing algorithms, preparing and extending processing pipelines, and applying these pipelines on magnetic resonance brain imaging datasets from various studies involving multi-modal MRI and PET data. Demonstrated experience in training and deploying deep learning models for image and/or data analysis projects is a highly desirable skill for this role. The data analyst will collect and organize final quantitative and imaging results, perform quality control on the results, and communicate with clinical collaborators for the dissemination and discussion of the results. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience using advanced neuroimaging processing techniques and to apply these methods in the study of normal and pathological brain function.

For the Data Analyst D: Same as Data Analyst C, with the following additional expectations:

The Data Analyst D will operate with a higher degree of independence and will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced data analysis and image processing workflows. This role involves developing and deploying complex computational pipelines, integrating multi-modal imaging and clinical datasets, and contributing to methodological innovation in neuroimaging and biomedical data science.

The analyst will take a leading role in study design, data modeling, and interpretation of results, working closely with investigators and clinical collaborators. They may mentor junior analysts, contribute to grant proposals and manuscripts, and drive the adoption of best practices for reproducible and scalable data analysis.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree and 2 years to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required (For the Data Analyst D: A Bachelor's Degree and 3-4 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required). Experience with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) analysis is required. Strong computer skills (knowledge of Python and/or Matlab, statistical analysis packages, basic shell scripting, experience in Unix platform) will be preferred. Position is contingent upon continued funding.
