Full-time international faculty position starting Spring 2026 teaching one or more courses in the following areas: database management, data infrastructure, machine learning and other topics related to data analytics.

About the University

LNNU-MSU College of International Business (CIB) is located in Dalian, a coastal city in northeast China. The city boasts a low cost of living, a mild climate, fresh seafood, and a relaxed atmosphere. The partnership between Missouri State University (USA) and Liaoning Normal University (China) was established in June 2000. LNNU-MSU CIB offers a two-year AA in General Studies and a four-year BS in General Business, open to both Chinese and international students.

What sets LNNU-MSU apart is its academic structure: while LNNU provides and maintains facilities, MSU ensures academic standards equivalent to those at its U.S. campus. All classes are taught in English and follow a U.S.-style university schedule, preparing students for study abroad.

The program in Dalian is formally approved by the governing bodies of both universities - the Ministry of Education in the People's Republic of China and the MSU Board of Governors in the United States. Its mission is to foster cultural and educational exchange while strengthening U.S.-China relations.

About the Job

Faculty are approved by Missouri State University and employed by Liaoning Normal University as consultant lecturers, who work in cooperation with MSU. They are not employees of MSU and are expected to fulfill the obligations detailed in their contracts from LNNU. Full-time faculty teach up to 15 lecture hours and hold 5 office hours per week. Interaction with students outside the classroom is encouraged. This position will require relocation to Dalian, China. All instruction is conducted in English, so familiarity with the China language is not required.

Compensation

• Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience
• 16,000 – 20,000 RMB per month (Plus 3,800 per Month Housing Allowance)
• Initial contract for one semester. Subsequent contracts will be one-year employment contracts, which are standard per the Chinese Government work visa policy. Candidates looking to teach multiple years are preferred

Minimum Requirements

Background checks:

• Successful candidates will need a criminal background check as per Chinese work visa requirements and a background check from MSU

Education and Teaching Experience:

• Master’s degree in data analytics or a related field from an accredited institution. Candidates must meet minimum standards for academic qualification consistent with HLC accreditation.
• Two years of teaching experience in a related field (University or College level preferred)

Visa:

• Successful candidates must apply for and obtain a work permit/visa for China. LNNU-MSU will outline these processes, as well as assist in acquiring and paying for these documents.

Desired Qualifications

• Ph.D. in data analytics or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Five or more years of teaching experience in a related field (University or College level preferred)
• Experience with students for whom English is a second language.
