Data-driven optimisation of hydraulic model calibration and flood risk interventions for enhanced resilience and investment efficiency (Ref: IRISK-26-LU-05)
About the Project
Flood risk is rising under climate change and urbanisation, posing urgent challenges for protecting communities and infrastructure. This PhD project offers an exciting opportunity to develop data-driven approaches to improve flood modelling and optimise risk management strategies. You will be trained in advanced methods such as machine learning, uncertainty analysis, and digital twins, while working closely with leading academics and industry partners at Jacobs (subject to contract). Through this collaboration, you will apply your research to real-world challenges and gain valuable interdisciplinary experience.
The project will equip you with the skills and insight to become a future leader in flood resilience and climate adaptation.
