Job Description

The Data Integrity Coordinator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all gifts received by Boston University, including checks, credit cards, payroll deductions, pledge commitments, employer matching gifts, stock transfers, gifts-in-kind, and planned gifts. This role involves researching and analyzing gifts to ensure appropriate donor credit and proper fund designation, identifying discrepancies, and adjusting records as necessary. The coordinator generates tax receipts daily and annually in accordance with regulations, reconciles gifts recorded in the CRM with deposits, updates donor records based on documentation, and transforms data from various sources.

Essential functions include:

  • Gift Accounting: Provide timely and accurate gift processing for complex donations such as stocks, wire transfers, planned gifts, Donor Advised Fund gifts, and matching gifts. Maintain electronic gift backups, scan checks for deposit, prepare cash and foreign check deposits, produce and send gift receipts, and complete integrity projects like correcting recognition credits and updating appeal codes.
  • Records and Database Management: Maintain biographical information, ensure data accuracy from various sources, monitor and streamline procedures, identify and troubleshoot data integration issues, and assist with data integrity projects such as standardizing fields.
  • Advancement and Donor Relations Services: Contact donors regarding gift errors, research giving history, respond to inquiries, and produce tribute notifications.
  • Advancement Services: Serve as a key team member, cross-train with colleagues, collaborate on processes, assist with training, and help implement new systems.

Required skills include a Bachelor's degree preferred, 1-3 years of relevant experience, database management experience, ability to prioritize workloads, handle confidential information, and strong knowledge of Microsoft products.
