Job Description
Responsible for department data analytics, collecting large amounts of data, interpreting data, aiding in departmental data issues, and other data-driven initiatives for the department.
Duties:
- Meets with team members regarding projects
- Collects and interprets data and aid in all department data needs
- Automates and integrates processes
- Develops processes for formulation of data-driven solutions for improvements
- Develops complex models that integrate business rules and requirements
- Creates machine learning models
- Communicates and meets with teams and interested parties
- Shares complex ideas verbally and visually in an understandable manner with non-technical stakeholders
- Performs other duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
Job Requirements
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in related field, AND: 48 months experience in Data Science, Predictive, or Advanced Analytics or related experience.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 96 months of related experience.
Skills:
- Ability to use data visualization tools
- Advanced knowledge of data querying languages, and statistical or mathematical software
- Advanced knowledge in writing algorithms, and knowing when to apply them
- Ability to understand statistics, multi-variable calculus, and linear algebra
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to lead other employees
Certifications: None
Working Conditions:
Physical: Sits for prolonged periods of time. Ability to engage in repetitive motion. Manual dexterity. Communicate effectively.
Environmental: Standard Office Work Environment.
Departmental Preferences: Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.). Knowledge of machine learning or predictive modeling techniques in a healthcare context. Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean). Prior experience supporting grant-funded clinical research or academic medical centers. Master of Science degree in Data Science, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Informatics, or other related field.
