Job Description

  • This position is for School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS).
  • Academic & Programme Management:
  • Lead end-to-end management of the DBA (Tech) programme, ensuring seamless execution, exceptional service delivery, and a premium experience for students who are likely to be high profile C-suite, C-1 or C-2 executives.
  • Work with the SCIS stakeholders and partner university admissions team to develop and implement recruitment strategies to meet application, admission, and enrollment targets.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of the DBA (Tech) website with SCIS Webmaster.
  • Provide guidance and support faculty members on academic related matters, including exam administration, grading processes, and student assessments to ensure a seamless academic experience.
  • Manage the formation and appointment of DBA (Tech) students' dissertation supervisors, formation of dissertation committee and other related admin matters.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive repository of course materials, academic policies, and student portal updates.
  • Manage billing, student account setup, course registration, scheduling, and evaluations, ensuring adherence to academic policies and deadlines.
  • Work with professional translation service providers to translate, adapt, and localize academic materials of SMU's English-based systems and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements, including student records management.
  • Work with DBA(Tech) senior management to set strategic priorities, optimize workflows, and establish best practices to enhance programme efficiency and impact.
  • Student & Alumni Engagement:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile executive students, ensuring a high-touch, concierge-level service that meets their expectations.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and provide timely solutions to help students navigate internal systems, processes, and procedures in case of language challenges.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of high-value executive networking events, leadership workshops, and alumni engagement initiatives, strengthening the DBA (Tech) brand and long-term community.
  • Maintain and leverage student and alumni databases for relationship management and long-term engagement.
  • Establish a data-driven feedback mechanism to track student satisfaction, faculty effectiveness, and programme impact, implementing improvements accordingly.
  • External Relations & Experiential Learning:
  • Oversee international study segments, for both China-based students to study at SMU, and Singapore-based students to study at Fudan, ensuring an immersive and seamless global learning experience.
  • Lead partnerships with industry leaders, multinational corporations, and partner universities to enhance experiential learning opportunities for participants.
  • Develop and expand corporate and academic networks, creating opportunities for participant engagement beyond the classroom.
  • Budgeting & Financial Oversight:
  • Develop and manage the DBA (Tech) programme budget, ensuring financial sustainability and efficient resource allocation.
  • Work closely with finance teams to ensure accurate forecasting, cost optimization, and revenue tracking, in alignment with SMU's business goals.
  • Other Duties as Assigned:
  • Support special projects, events and initiatives that align with the programme's long-term goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Having a Master's degree will be advantageous.
  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience preferably in educational and/or public service setting.
  • Prior experience relevant to this position or acquired in an Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) setting will be advantageous.
  • A Professional Business Chinese Language Certification for non-native speakers will be advantageous as the successful candidate will be required to communicate with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
  • Effectively bilingual with excellent communication (written and verbal) skills in English and Mandarin. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred to support the needs of a diverse student population and facilitate communication with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders and foster collaborative working relationships.
  • Adept in using MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) and video conferencing tools (WebEx, Bluejeans, Zoom, MS Teams, Tencent Meeting/VooV) and social medica channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, WeChat, Weibo, Xiao Hong Shu).
  • Meticulous, hardworking, and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and work under stress to meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to perform ad-hoc duties as needed.
  • Able to travel to execute programme related activities.
