"Dean of Liberal Arts & Sciences"

This position provides leadership, supervision, and administration for Liberal Arts and Sciences instructional programs and related support staff on the Willmar and Hutchinson campuses across all instructional modalities of Ridgewater College.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, Lead, and Coordinate: Curriculum and program research, development, review, and assessment across on-campus, hybrid/blended, and online modalities; academic year course schedules and faculty loads; library and tutoring services; supervise and evaluate instructional programs; provide leadership to faculty for student outcomes evaluation; coordinate academic program review; partnership programs and community outreach.
• Student Retention and Completion: Lead activities focused on retention and completion, including program development and engagement with faculty and staff.
• Recruit, Hire, Onboard, Lead, and Develop Faculty and Staff: Conduct evaluations; support professional development; process leave requests; provide feedback on sabbaticals; adhere to Collective Bargaining Agreements.
• Fiscal Management: Plan and manage department budgets; seek grant opportunities; administer grants.
• Organizational Leadership: Provide leadership aligned with college goals; collaborate on enrollment initiatives; serve on committees; assist in policy development; represent the college at meetings.
• Other Administrative Duties: Address concerns; review student requests; perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $93,713 - $149,940

Anticipated Hiring Wage: $100,000 - $120,000 (dependent on experience and internal equity)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s degree with relevant coursework.
• Experience: Two or more years of postsecondary teaching; willingness for continuous improvement; excellent communication skills; knowledge of diverse cultures; ability to travel.

Preferred Qualification:

• Education: Earned doctorate or terminal degree.
• Experience: Leadership in a unionized environment; administrator experience; teaching in Minnesota State system; commitment to community college mission; collaborative style; experience across modalities.

Other Requirements: Conform to vehicle use criteria; valid driver’s license.

Work Shift: Monday-Friday (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
