Our BCom, MBA, MGB, PhD, and executive education programs are globally recognized and innovative; our MBA ranks #1 in Canada and #9 globally for sustainability (Corporate Knights 2024), and the MGB ranks #1 in Canada and #3 in North America (FT 2023 MiM). Gustavson is home to over 2,000 students, more than 8,800 alumni shaping industries and communities around the world, and over 50 faculty who champion impactful multidisciplinary research. The School enjoys excellent employment outcomes, with over 80% of graduates employed within three months of graduation, and a vast experiential learning network including 800 co-op placements and partnerships with 100+ leading universities around the world.

Reporting to the Vice-President Academic and Provost, the Dean will provide strategic, collaborative, and inspirational leadership to the School. The Dean will provide visionary leadership across three core priority areas: Culture and People, Revenue Growth and External Engagement, and Research and Teaching Excellence. They will foster an inclusive, collaborative, and transparent environment; lead strategic advancement to grow the School’s reputation and resources; and champion interdisciplinary research and ethical business education. With a strong commitment to equity, Indigenization, and global impact, the Dean will guide Gustavson’s next chapter of innovation, engagement, and purpose-driven leadership. They will play a national leadership role in shaping business education in Canada and will collaborate across the University and with alumni, donors, industry leaders, and community partners to advance the School’s vision and reputation.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) in a relevant discipline and be eligible for appointment as a full professor (associate professors nearing promotion will also be considered). They will be a distinguished academic and administrative leader with a record of scholarly achievement, strategic and financial management (including accreditation) and success in engaging internal and external stakeholders. A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, sustainability, and reconciliation is essential. The ideal candidate will bring integrity, vision, and the ability to inspire excellence and collaboration among faculty, staff, students, and partners. They will foster trust, empower others, and unite the community around a shared sense of purpose.
