The University of California (UC), Merced invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the School of Natural Sciences. Role of the Dean of the School of Natural Sciences: The Dean is the chief officer of the School with overall administrative responsibility for an academic unit that includes five departments offering eight undergraduate majors and four graduate programs. The Dean provides intellectual and academic leadership for the instructional and research missions of SNS.

Key Opportunities and Challenges: Lead the vision and strategy for the School, recruit and retain talented faculty, enhance the academic profile and scholarly impact, strengthen enrollment and educational impact, manage the academic enterprise, and advocate for SNS internally and externally.

Qualifications: Required - A doctorate in a field compatible with SNS programs, distinguished record in teaching and scholarship, significant leadership experience, and demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence.
