Job Description:
The Digital Education Collaborative (DEC) in the division of Academic Affairs invites applications for an Instructional Designer (FA101).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to design, develop, and enhance high-quality learning experiences across face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments.
- Consult with faculty on instructional design, learning technologies, learning outcomes, assessment, accessibility, and the integration of emerging technologies, including generative AI
- Develop and deliver faculty development trainings, instructional resources, and support materials
- Evaluate, implement, and support instructional technology tools to enhance teaching and student success
- Implement innovative solutions that enhance teaching and learning
This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's campus.

Requirements:
Required qualifications:
- Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or similar field
- Experience with, or knowledge of Generative AI in teaching and learning context
- Experience providing training, technical support, or consultations in a higher ed environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with others, especially higher ed faculty
- Experience with an LMS, Canvas preferred
- Knowledge of instructional design principles
- Ability to communicate technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with accessibility policies and technology
- Experience with educational technology tools such as Zoom, PollEverywhere, Ally, Respondus
- Ability to evaluate instructional needs and recommend effective solutions
- Ability to develop effective documentation and training materials
Additional Information:
This is a full-time, administrative & professional faculty, exempt position. The anticipated salary range for this position will be $58,000 to $62,000 annually. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
