About the Project

Transform lives in the future built environment creating better architecture and transportation systems.

More than 1.5 million people move to urban environments every week globally, and cities on our urban areas under a constant development meaning that the design and planning for those environments are critical for our global societies. Your research could provide the solutions complex multidimensional problems that face the design and delivery of the built-in environment from the architecture of spaces to the resilience and efficiency of the transport system systems that connect them.

The move to digitising architecture and construction as well as manufacturing requires implicit knowledge of design and how it intersects with digital information technologies. Digital control of autonomous vehicles is a key part of delivering integrate across mobility and buildings. Your research could be exploring the problems around collision through free path planning and driverless vehicles, or even understanding how data fusion and AI can be enables to create safer environments for humans and vehicles to coexist.

Join our team who combine the power of the UK’s leading School of architecture, with the multi-disciplinary teams across urbanisum and sustainable transport and help deliver our future cities to enable them to support growth and wealth as well as the health and well-being of city occupants.

Tuition fees for 2026-27 entry

  • UK fee - £5,238 Full-time degree per annum
  • International fee - £29,500 Full-time degree per annum

Fees for the 2026-27 academic year apply to projects starting in October 2026, February 2027 and July 2027.

UK tuition fees for 2026/27 are currently to be confirmed pending the release of the UKRI recommended rates. Once published, these rates will be subject to formal approval by the University before being confirmed.
