Job Summary
The duties include assisting dental students, residents, and faculty in patient treatment for various dental procedures.
Responsibilities
- Chair Side Assistance: Assist with emergency restorative, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. Participate in 4-handed dentistry, handle instruments, mix materials, manage patient issues, and follow infection control protocols.
- Instruments & Instruction: Operate dental x-ray equipment, explain procedures, obtain supplies, maintain equipment, and assist with patient appointments.
- Other Duties: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with one year of related experience, or Certified Dental Assistant with an associate's degree or higher in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from a certified Dental Assisting program with 3 years of experience, including mixing materials, taking x-rays, and chair side skills.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge: Of oral structures, tooth anatomy, dental instruments, and 4-handed dentistry.
- Skills: Flexibility and adaptability.
- Abilities: Maintain confidentiality, work under pressure, and assist in various procedures.
