"DENTAL ASSISTANT II - (2) DOTHAN, AL"

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Dentistry Dental Clinic (Dothan, AL) is seeking to hire a Dental Assistant II in support of the UAB School of Dentistry Dothan teaching clinic. The DA II will work under the general direction and supervision of the Dental Clinic Coordinator, the Lead Dentist and Clinical Faculty who render and supervise patient care and dental students.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for providing support in various dental procedures.
2. Maintains surgery rooms and equipment, takes and processes radiographs of patients and dispenses supplies.
3. Sterilizes and cleans all surgical instruments, supplies and dental assist units.
4. Disposes of infectious waste according to established procedures.
5. Takes radiographs of patients as requested by doctor.
6. Processes and mounts film, ensuring quality results.
7. Breaks down and cleans equipment, replenishing solutions as required.
8. Performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of department.
9. Answers phones, takes messages and makes appointments, explains and receives payment for procedures, etc.
10. Responds to the unique needs of all patients ages newborn to geriatric.

(Hourly Rate: $15.00 - $25.19)

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited Dental Assistant Program required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
