Dental Hygiene Lab Coordinator
This twelve-month position includes up to 7 credit hours of clinical and/or laboratory teaching per semester, along with administrative oversight of the Dental Hygiene Clinic. Key responsibilities include supervising daily operations, coordinating patient care, managing inventory and equipment, overseeing sterilization and hazardous materials protocols, and ensuring compliance with State Board of Dentistry regulations. The role also encompasses management of electronic patient records, budget input, and contributions to student admission and retention. A strong ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and community partners is essential to success in this position.
- Teach up to 7 credit hours per semester in the dental hygiene clinic and/or laboratory.
- Oversee daily clinic functions including patient care coordination, sterilization, inventory management, equipment maintenance and repairs, and accounts receivable.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and Right-to-Know standards.
- Monitor patient records and clinical practices for accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the technical specialist for electronic patient records, manage and maintain clinical software and digital patient files.
- Provide input for annual clinic budget development and track supply usage and assist with cost control.
- Update and maintain clinic-related manuals, including HIPAA, Chemical Hazard Compliance, Infection Control, Bloodborne Pathogen, Right-to-Know, Assistant Rotation Manual, and Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Participate in the admission and retention process of prospective students.
- Attend internal and external trainings, committees, meetings, community events, and other professional development events.
- Work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
- Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, carrying equipment and supplies, reaching overhead, and regularly lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating the ability to work independently.

Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree
Experience Required:
Three years of full-time clinical experience
Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements
Experience in clinical office management preferred
