Dental Technical Specialist (Teaching)
The role
We are seeking an outstanding individual with an interest in supporting the training and delivery of dental education at Bristol Dental School. Opened in 2023, the Bristol Dental School has rapidly risen in popularity for delivering the best in dental training, in a modern and supportive environment. We are looking for someone who is recognised as a specialist in a dental technology (preferably in Removable Prosthetics). You will advise staff, students, or other technical colleagues in relevant specialist techniques, contribute to the development and delivery of teaching activities, and provide specialist knowledge during the educational delivery sessions.
The post holder will be expected to work across both the teaching laboratory, and the Dental Production and areas, to maintain skills and provide support to the delivery of student patient technical work (at certain points over the year).
The post holder will be required to utilise modern dental technology techniques, such as Intra-Oral scanners, using 3d dental design software (e.g. ExoCad, 3Shape, Dentsply) to support teaching, and dental 3d printing and milling machines to produce dental restorations and educational resources.
What will you be doing?
You will provide support to teaching, primarily in the Prosthetics Teaching Suite (PTS), but you may also be required to provide support in the Clinical Skills Suite and other teaching environments across the school, as well as the dental production laboratory. The role will be responsible for supporting and delivering teaching content and contribute to the development of teaching materials.

The individual will have a passion for dentistry and a real interest in developing themselves, other colleagues and dental students. Applicants must be fully registered with the General Dental Council as a DCP (Dental Technician).
