Department SummaryThe Department Administrator plays a key leadership role in managing business and administrative operations within the Division of Enrollment Management. Serving as a strategic partner to division leadership, this position oversees budgeting, financial operations, human resources processes, cross-functional special projects, and other administrative functions. The role ensures smooth coordination across teams, supports compliance and operational logistics, and manages facilities access and safety. In coordination with the Division Operations team, the Department Administrator provides expert guidance and exceptional service to internal teams and external partners, contributing to the overall effectiveness and professionalism of the division.
Position ProfileOversees, plans, manages, implements and/or evaluates the operations of a college, division, or department in the areas of human resources, compliance, financial, and additional services. Identifies and establishes financial and operational systems to monitor, control, and improve efficiency and effectiveness, not limited to, processes, procedures and policies.
Level SummaryProvides professional expertise to the University community. Serves as a resource and guide to others in the department and/or university. Completes operational tasks essential for the daily functioning of the University. Additionally, contributes to larger projects or initiatives that align with department or University goals, often collaborating across teams.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesMay assist in mentoring or training new employees.
Fiscal ResponsibilitiesNo budgetary responsibility. May be responsible for validating transactions.
Problem SolvingHandles a variety of problems with some independence.
Independence of ActionSome supervision; able to work independently on routine tasks.
Communication and CollaborationCollaborates with team members and shares knowledge.
Physical RequirementsThis role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.
Minimum QualificationsRequires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3 or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications - Demonstrated proficiency in spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications, preferably Microsoft Office products, with advanced Excel skills.
Experience supporting human resources functions, including hiring, onboarding, position management, payroll, or employee records administration. Experience coordinating or managing projects, including planning, tracking timelines, and ensuring successful completion of deliverables. Prior experience working in a higher education environment. Experience supporting financial processes, including budget monitoring, purchasing, procurement, and reconciliation activities. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Successful completion of a background check. DepartmentAdmissions
