Department Administrator
Position Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Department Administrator for the Information Security Office within the Office of Information Technology.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Serves as the lead administrative coordinator of the Department.
- Provides administrative leadership and support for the Deputy CIO, Information Security Office, Health Sciences IT, and IT Communications Group for accounting and budgeting, purchasing, personnel, facilities, student support, events, and all administrative, operational, and financial functions.
- Ensures an inviting, professional and responsive atmosphere for students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, work organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping, and/or report writing principles and practices.
Two years of relevant experience in an administrative function.

MS Office Suite, Cornerstone, Discoverer/Tableau, ROCS, RAPSS, Researcher's Dashboard, HCM, ECRT, appointment system.
Ability to learn any and all systems Rutgers University (RU) uses for academic and student support, grants management and accounting, travel and expense reimbursement, parking, telephones, payroll, recruitment, personnel and performance management, absence reporting, course scheduling, facilities and space management and web and social media.
All the equipment, software, and specialized materials needed to support the effective and efficient performance of this position.
