GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Under moderate to limited supervision, provides department support, manages department processes, and ensures smooth running of the office.
The typical work schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary contact providing customer support services to students, faculty, staff, and guests via telephone, email and/or walk-in traffic.
- Collaborate with staff and faculty to manage a variety of projects and ensure effective workflow.
- Track department expenditures and Pcard reconciliations.
- Perform various office clerical duties including scheduling rooms using scheduling software, ordering and stocking supplies, sorting and distributing mail, entering maintenance orders, keeping work areas in an operational state.
- Assist students with information and referrals to appropriate college services.
- Assist students with registrations, pre-req questions, and registration waivers.
- Collaborate with other Arts and Sciences Departments to coordinate office staffing coverage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Take the initiative to identify tasks that need to be completed, ask questions, and seek clarification when needed.
- Exhibit attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when assisting with departmental operations.
- Foster a welcoming environment for all who interact with the Math Science Department.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION: This position involves sitting in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of relevant experience using standard office software and equipment. Must have experience with entering and organizing information in spreadsheets.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- Two years or more of relevant office experience.
- Relevant experience in higher education, working directly with students, faculty, and staff.
- Familiarity with math and science course sequencing and pre-requisites.
