Job Summary
Job ID 285359. Position# 40088926. The Department Chair's responsibilities include oversight for and/or participation in departmental teaching, research, scholarship. This is a full-time position with the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. This position reports to the Dean of the College of Allied Health Sciences. The tenure status will be determined based on the qualifications of the final candidate.
Responsibilities
Uphold and exhibit Augusta University values. Provide supervision, support, and oversight for all faculty and staff. Hire faculty and staff and handle disciplinary actions. Be responsible for assessment and evaluation of faculty and staff. Work with the Speech-Language Pathology Program Director to achieve excellence in academic programming. Review enrollment trends and balance with faculty capacity. Administer department operations and budget. Advise on promotion and tenure. Advise students on policies. Meet with class officers and students. Maintain a positive environment. Establish and monitor policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with regulations.
Other Administrative Functions: Provide team building, manage organization and fiscal aspects, handle programmatic review, prepare required documents, cultivate a community of scholars, supervise Clinical Director and staff, prepare reports, conduct performance evaluations, assign teaching responsibilities, participate in appointment, promotion, and tenure processes.
Required Qualifications
PhD in a related area or EdD. Must be licensed to practice Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) in the U.S. At least 7 years of combined academic and clinical experience, including program directing and managing faculty. Graduate from an accredited SLP program. Prior experience in an academic administrative role with teaching experience. Evidence of teaching ability and scholarly activity.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
