Department of Anthropology Part-time Lecturer Pool
Job Summary
The Department of Anthropology seeks applicants for its part-time lecturer pool. We are seeking experienced, well-organized, and student-centered individuals to teach in the following subject areas: sociocultural anthropology, biological anthropology and/or archaeology. Candidates must have at least a Master's degree in a field relevant to the curriculum of the Department of Anthropology. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior teaching experience at the college or university level and who can furnish evidence of strong teaching. A Ph.D. is desirable for teaching upper-division courses (3000, 4000 and 5000-level) and required for 6000-level graduate courses. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students. Preference will be given to those with experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary and all appointments are temporary. Staffing decisions are made on a rolling basis typically beginning a few months prior to the start of an academic term right up to the beginning of the academic term. We recommend submitting your application at least 4 months before the beginning of an academic term to be considered for available positions.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must hold Master's degree or Ph.D. in Anthropology or related field at time of employment and demonstrate evidence of teaching promise.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate degree in Anthropology or related field in hand by time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of scholarly activity, publication, and innovation is valued. Evidence of exemplary graduate-level teaching and leadership experience at program level is preferred and should be noted in application.

Confidential letters of recommendation will be solicited from those listed as references on the application if the applicant is moved forward in the recruitment process.

Salary
Lecturer A (Range 2) - $5,507 - $6,677; Lecturer B (Range 3) - $6,221 - $13,224; Lecturer C (Range 4) - $6,825 - $14,523; Lecturer D (Range 5) - $8,593 - $15,211. Salary is commensurate with experience and in accordance with percentage of time appointed.
