Application deadline: July 21, 2025

Who we are...

The Heyne group is an internationally renowned research group in the field of ultrafast spectroscopy of electronic and vibrational transitions in proteins, biologically relevant molecules, and MOFs. Ultrafast dynamics upon light excitation are to be monitored in real time and fundamental activation processes identified. A focus of the work is on processes for structural change, energy conversion for energy storage, and the binding and release of molecules.

Responsibilities:

Participation in the research and teaching of the working group in the fields of optics and nonlinear spectroscopy. Conducting femtosecond pump-probe experiments. This includes the adjustment, optimization, and execution of existing Vis-Vis pump-probe or Vis-IR pump-probe experiments. The experiments will be conducted independently in the medium term, initially in collaboration with other scientists. Data analysis and the preparation and later writing of manuscripts for publication of the results are also part of the job.

The activity serves to further your own scientific qualification.

Requirements:

completed university degree (Master or equivalent) in physics or a comparable field of study.

(Professional) experience:

The person must be familiar with the setup of nonlinear optical experiments and have knowledge in the field of optics and nonlinear optics.

Desired:

Experience in various spectroscopic methods with a focus on ultrafast spectroscopy. Knowledge of sample preparation for Vis-pump Vis/IR probe experiments.

We are looking for a team-oriented individual who is well-organized and committed.
