Position Overview

Are you a creative thinker who loves bringing ideas to life through design? Massey University’s Office of Marketing is looking for a Designer to join our Creative Hub team on Wellington Campus. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your design skills across a wide variety of projects while helping to shape the way Massey connects with students, staff, and communities.

About the role

As a Designer, you’ll create engaging visual materials for both print and digital channels. From publications, social media graphics, and advertising to signage, campaign collateral, and event displays, your mahi will directly support Massey’s brand and reputation.

Working closely with colleagues across the University, you’ll take briefs from concept through to finished artwork, ensuring every piece is polished, professional, and aligned with Massey’s brand guidelines. You’ll also collaborate with external suppliers and production teams to deliver quality results on time.

This role is perfect for a designer with strong technical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

The salary band for this position is $58,038 - $82,006 based on skills and experience.

What we’re looking for

• A recognised qualification in graphic design (or similar).
• Proven experience creating both print and digital design collateral (portfolio required).
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Knowledge of print and digital production processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to balance creativity with practical problem-solving.
• An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in Aotearoa design contexts (desirable).
