Position Information

Salary Range: Up to $51,900 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary
The Development Coordinator offers comprehensive support for fundraising and engagement efforts within Advancement & Alumni Engagement. Reporting to UTSA Athletics, this role supports donor engagement, stewardship, events, communications, and operational activities aligned with institutional priorities. The Development Coordinator, collaborating with advancement colleagues and internal partners across the institution, plans and carries out activities that strengthen relationships with donors, alumni, and key stakeholders. With a focus on annual giving and participation-based fundraising, this role contributes to the planning and execution of multi-channel communications and appeals, including digital, print, and crowdfunding efforts, to support the Roadrunner Athletic Fund (RAF).
Core Responsibilities
- Supports the execution of fundraising and stewardship activities, including donor communications, meeting coordination, gift processing support, and tracking of development-related activities.
- Coordinates planning and execution of development-related events, including logistics, communications, and on-site support for donor cultivation, stewardship, and alumni engagement activities.
- Drafts and edits written materials for internal and external audiences, such as donor correspondence, reports, event materials, and promotional content.
- Maintains accurate records in the constituent relationship management (CRM) system, including donor interactions, meeting notes, and activity tracking; assists with reporting and data analysis as needed.
- Assists with prospect identification, research, and tracking, and supports implementation of development strategies, campaigns, or special initiatives.
- Provides administrative support, including scheduling, travel coordination, processing financial or purchasing requests, and assisting with project management and special assignments.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of the institution's mission, priorities, and programs to effectively support advancement efforts and represent the organization professionally.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- One (1) year of related work experience.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing and executing multi-channel communication, fundraising or marketing campaigns (email, direct mail, digital, or social media).
- Strong writing and editing skills, with experience drafting donor-facing or promotional communications.
- Experience with project management, including managing timelines, calendars, and multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Ability to analyze engagement or campaign performance data to inform communication strategies.
- Experience collaborating with creative or communications teams on messaging and design.

Working Conditions
Office environment. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events. Workdays, areas, and work hours may vary depending on the department's needs.
Physical Demands
Sedentary work; mostly sitting. May be required to stand for extended periods when attending donor or alumni events. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
