The Development, Alumni Relations and Engagement (DARE) team at Kingston University plays a vital role in delivering the ambitions of Kingston University. Major gifts are central to successfully delivering the fundraising growth strategy at Kingston University. We are an ambitious team and we have seen significant success in major gift fundraising over the last several years. Reporting to the Head of Major Gifts, the Development Manager (Major Gifts) role is a senior team member with the responsibility for generating philanthropic income to meet ambitious annual targets, to support the creation of and delivery of a sophisticated fundraising programme which aligns with university priorities and endeavour to grow major giving from £450,000 annually to £1mil annually in three years. While the primary focus will be on major gifts of £10,000 and more, the role will also support the pipeline of mid-level prospects and help develop UHNV prospects to make transformative gifts. The postholder will manage a mixed portfolio of current and prospective donors (individuals, trusts & foundations, and corporates), personally soliciting gifts and setting up asks for others.

The post holder will be passionate about the impact of fundraising in higher education and have demonstrable experience securing philanthropic gifts and building relationships with senior stakeholders and high net value individuals.

The Person

You will be a driven and highly-motivating fundraiser. You will have a track record of securing and successfully stewarding 4+ figure gifts, ideally in a complex organisation - charity or higher education - alongside achieving ambitions personal KPIs and income targets. You’ll be passionate about the power of fundraising in higher education.

To be successful, the postholder will have outstanding communication skills including interpersonal, written, speaking and presentation skills – you will also have demonstrable experience building relationships across stakeholders and fostering collaboration.

This is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £45,025 per annum. Part-time working (0.8fte) will be considered for an exceptional candidate.
