Digital Course Developer

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

As a Digital Course Developer at UC, you will do more than build courses you will shape equitable, engaging online learning experiences that empower learners | ākonga. We are seeking a highly organised and digitally savvy Digital Course Developer to support the design, development, and delivery of high-quality online courses and programmes. Working within a collaborative learning design environment, you will transform course concepts into engaging digital learning experiences using Learning Management Systems and eLearning authoring tools.

In this role, you will develop engaging and high-quality online learning experiences within the Learning Management System using eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Rise and Storyline. Working collaboratively with Learning Designers, Subject Matter Experts, Media Producers, and project teams, you will create interactive, accessible, and learner-focused digital courses, while supporting quality assurance, continuous improvement, and the ongoing enhancement and maintenance of course content and documentation.

Mōu | Who You Are

You will have strong expertise in higher education pedagogy and course development of blended, hybrid, and online designs within a tertiary setting, and have:

  • Experience working in eLearning, instructional design, or a related digital learning environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and editing content within a Learning Management System, ideally Moodle or Totara.
  • Ideally, experience using eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Rise and Storyline to create engaging online learning materials.
  • Strong technical capability, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and identify practical solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality, learner-focused outcomes.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work to deadlines, and adapt within a fast-paced project environment.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with a positive “can do” attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.
