About the Role:
The University of Manchester Library seeks a Digital Learning Technologist to lead the Library’s work to create engaging online materials that support Library teaching and learning services and strengthen the Library’s work in digital skills, information literacy, and academic skills development.
In this role, you will use your expertise in inclusive instructional design and digital pedagogy to design, develop, and enhance inclusive digital learning resources.
You will:
- Collaborate with librarians, learning developers, the Library Student Team, and other subject matter experts to create engaging online materials that support Library teaching and learning services
- Support and encourage staff in applying effective learning design and technology use, underpinned by robust pedagogic frameworks
- Take on line management and leadership responsibilities within the team, supporting the professional development, performance, and wellbeing of colleagues, and contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing working environment
- The role is predominantly campus based but there will be opportunity to work from home one day a week.
- To be flexible in relation to hours of work as may be reasonably requested from time to time

- Shortlist

We will operate a two-stage interview process. Initially, shortlisted candidates will be invited to a short in-person or online interview so that the interview panel and candidate can ask further questions and add more detail to the application.
Those asked to move on after this stage will have demonstrated how their own experience will support them in the role and will be invited to a more extensive on campus process that will provide an opportunity to work with members of Teaching, Learning and Students (including the Library Student Team) to design and/or outline an online learning resource.
