Purpose of the Position: Under the supervision of the Front of House Manager, performs a variety of duties including maintaining all areas of the dining room and beverage stations, replenishing condiments, operating the cash register, and general cleaning tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position:
- Knowledge of basic math skills
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to follow directions both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally to both supervisors and guests
- Knowledge of safety and sanitizing procedures
- Ability to work in congested work areas and areas where wet processes are used
- Ability to wear protective footwear
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with all Dining Services employees and customers
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma
Additional Consideration(s):
Experience: Previous experience in the food service industry; Previous customer service experience; Experience with POS systems/financial transactions; Experience with sanitation practices and standards; Experience with safety protocols and procedures; Previous experience working in an institutional setting

Salary Information: Starting at $15.00, Commensurate with Education and Experience
Conditions of Employment: This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period; Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program; Must be able to work a flexible schedule; Ability to work in congested work areas and areas where wet processes are used; Ability to wear protective footwear
