Dir- EO & ADA/504 Coord
Job Summary
Provide strategic leadership and institutional oversight for Georgia Tech's compliance with disability and EEO laws. Serve as the Institute's ADA/504 Coord, lead the development and implementation of policies, programs, and compliance initiatives related to disability access, employee accommodations, and nondiscriminatory employment practices. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws including the ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, and related regulations. Provide expert guidance to senior leadership and campus partners while overseeing the employee accommodations program and ADA compliance efforts across campus. Support compliance with ADA Title II Digital Accessibility Rule, ensure web content and mobile applications meet accessibility standards, and collaborate with HR, Legal Affairs, Facilities, and IT to promote accessible programs and services. Responsible for setting employee and/or group goals, deciding on the organizational structure to meet the goals, assessing employee and/or group performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. Typically will interact consistently with students, staff, faculty. Typically will advise and counsel students, staff, faculty. Supervise staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Institute's ADA compliance and employee accommodations programs, ensuring alignment with federal and state laws, University System of Georgia policies, and Georgia Tech institutional priorities.
- Serve as the Institute's designated ADA/504 Coordinator responsible for coordinating institutional compliance with disability-related laws and ensuring the implementation of required policies, procedures, and grievance processes. Supports institutional efforts to advance accessibility across programs, services, facilities, and digital environments.
- Oversee the Institute's employee accommodations program, ensuring consistent, equitable, and legally defensible processes for evaluating and implementing requests related to disability, pregnancy, and religious accommodations.
- Supervise and provide strategic direction to the Manager of Equal Opportunity & Accessibility and accommodation specialists responsible for program implementation, case management, and stakeholder consultation.
- Develop, interpret, and implement policies, procedures, and guidance related to ADA compliance, accessibility, and nondiscriminatory employment practices.
- Advise senior leadership, Human Resources, and campus administrators on complex or high-risk accommodation and EEO matters and collaborate with Legal Affairs to mitigate institutional risk and ensure defensible decision-making.
- Oversee the intake and coordination of disability-related grievances and complaints and ensure prompt and equitable resolution processes consistent with federal regulatory expectations and institutional procedures.
- Lead institutional efforts to assess, monitor, and improve accessibility across campus programs, services, and employment practices through audits, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives.
- Conduct and oversee assessments of campus facilities, programs, and environments—including buildings, athletic venues, pathways, and public spaces—to evaluate compliance with ADA accessibility standards and identify barriers requiring remediation.
