Director, Access & Neurodiverse Student Success

Job Summary: The Director of Access and Neurodiverse Student Success provides strategic leadership, management, and operation of the Access and Neurodiverse Student Services Center, ensuring an accessible academic and campus environment for neurodiverse students and students with disabilities. The Director provides strategic and operational leadership in the development, implementation, and oversight of disability-related accommodations and support services in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies. The Director also advances programs and activities to anticipate student needs and support retention and graduation goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Education, Counseling, or Social Work
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in disability services or accessibility coordination, including: two (2) or more years in a leadership or supervisory role, experience in successful collaboration with academic affairs/faculty colleagues, experience with assessment, strategic planning, and budget development (preferred), strong experience with accommodation processes, case management, and use of assistive and accessible technologies, and experience utilizing case management software.
- Applicants must meet stated minimum education and experience requirements.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Deep understanding of disability-related laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the NYS Human Rights Law, and best practices in accessibility in higher education
- Excellent interpersonal, analytic, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Strong computer skills and knowledge
- Demonstrated skills in counseling
Shift: Business hours, with weekends or evenings occasionally required
Expected Hiring Range: $68,000 - $72,272. The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related credentials.
