Director, Business Operations
Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Vice President and Chief Information Officer (VP & CIO) the Director of DoIT Business Operations serves as the principal budget, fiscal, and human resources officer for the Division of Information Technology. This position works closely with division leadership including Associate Vice Presidents, Information Security Office, and Directors to ensure effective and efficient operations including in the development and recommendation procedures related to budget and personnel administration. This position is responsible for safety and divisional compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for management of Division of Information Technology (DoIT) fiscal operations including budget and forecasting for the Division Office, Telecommunications, Network Services, and Enterprise Operations. Provide fiscal oversight and operational controls to ensure compliance with campus accounting policies and procedures.
- Responsible for management of the Human Resources, Personnel, and Payroll functions within the Division of Information Technology. Provide departmental HR oversight and operational controls to ensure compliance with Staff Human Resources, Personnel, and Payroll policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership and management of the daily operations of ITS Front Office including managing and directing Front Office Staff.
- Provide leadership in promoting departmental employee safety including identifying potential hazards, cart driver safety and adherence to SUAM and University Policy regarding cart maintenance and driving regulations. Prepare and monitor departmental Worker's Compensation Claims following University Policy.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, with technical and non-technical individuals within a culturally diverse campus environment. Maintain a professional demeanor. Maintain IT professional standards of anonymity for data that resides on campus servers and computer systems. Maintain confidentiality of all information. Attend and participate in departmental and team meetings.
