Essential Functions and percent of time
Strategic Leadership and Center Development (20%) - Provide strategic leadership and establish priorities for the Center for Health Professions consistent with the mission and strategic goals of the College and University.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for health professions exploration, professional preparation, experiential learning, and healthcare workforce development initiatives.
- Identify and develop new programs, academic-practice collaborations, pathways, partnerships, and initiatives that respond to student interests and regional healthcare workforce needs.
- Position the Center as a university-wide resource for students exploring or pursuing careers across the health professions.
- Represent the Center and College on university committees, community groups, professional associations, and at institutional events.
- Develop and advance the Center's identity, messaging, and outreach strategy in alignment with the mission of the Center for Health Professions.
- Advise College leadership regarding emerging healthcare workforce trends, student pipeline opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
Health Professions Programming and Student Preparation (20%) - Provide leadership for the development, coordination, and assessment of educational programming for students exploring or preparing for health professions careers.
- Establish strategic priorities and provide oversight for Center-wide programming related to:
- Health professions and major exploration
- Graduate and professional school preparation
- Application timelines and processes
- Personal statements and professional communication
- Interview preparation
- Resume and curriculum vitae development
- Professionalism and networking
- Ensure that programming serves students across the full range of health professions, including pre-health, undecided, undergraduate, and graduate students.
- Collaborate with academic programs, the Career Hub, Student Success, and other university offices to coordinate services and avoid duplication.
- Develop referral processes that connect students with academic advising, career services, tutoring, financial aid, and other appropriate resources
- Develop and support initiatives that enhance student readiness for health professions pathways, including professional preparation resources, partnerships, and programming that complement discipline-specific academic and advising services.
Healthcare Partnerships and Experiential Learning (20%) - Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with healthcare employers, community organizations, academic programs, alumni, and other external stakeholders to advance health professions pathways, experiential learning opportunities, and regional workforce initiatives.
- Collaborate with healthcare partners, including Premier Health, Dayton Children's Hospital, and other organizations, to identify workforce needs and develop pipeline initiatives, career engagement strategies, and opportunities that support student preparation and workforce development.

- Volunteer service

- Entry-level healthcare employment

Personnel, Operations, and Fiscal Management (15%) - Recruit, supervise, develop, and evaluate professional and support staff assigned to the Center.
- Establish clear roles, expectations, and annual goals for Center employees.
- Provide oversight for Center, including policies, procedures, scheduling, communications, and use of facilities.
- Ensure that the Center provides a welcoming and accessible environment for individual study, group learning, student programming, recruitment events, and employer engagement.
- Develop, administer, and monitor the Center's operating budget.
- Allocate personnel and financial resources in alignment with Center, College, and University priorities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable university policies and procedures.
Recruitment, Outreach, and Signature Programs (10%) - Collaborate with Enrollment Management, CHEH recruitment and admissions personnel, academic programs, and other university offices to support recruitment into health professions pathways.
- Provide strategic oversight of the Center's portfolio of health professions initiatives and collaborate with academic partners to support alignment of signature programs, including the Medical Scholars Program, with broader university health professions goals.
- Develop and support recruitment and outreach events such as:
- Health professions exploration events
- Pre-health visits
- CHEH orientation programs
- Green & Gold Day
- Nursing Camp
- Employer and practitioner panels
- High school and community outreach
- Promote awareness of the Center among prospective students, current students, families, faculty, staff, and community partners.
- Oversee the development of communications, presentations, web content, marketing materials, and other resources that clearly communicate the Center's purpose and opportunities.
- Partner with university communications, enrollment, academic units, and external stakeholders to promote Center initiatives, health professions pathways, and workforce partnerships.
- Collaborate with Financial Aid, Enrollment Management, and other appropriate offices on scholarships or other student-support initiatives assigned to the Center.
Assessment, Data, and Continuous Improvement (10%) - Develop and implement an assessment plan to measure the effectiveness and impact of Center programs and partnerships.
