Job Summary

The Director of the Center for Workforce Development reports to the Associate Vice President, Academic Affairs and Workforce Development and is responsible for leading the Center’s team in the achievement of its strategic mission to support individuals in their desire to get a job, get a better job, or get better at the job they are in. Additionally, the Center’s mission includes supporting the workforce needs for area businesses and industry, non-profit organizations and government agencies through the development and delivery of customized training programs. The director develops positive relationships and partnerships with businesses and industry, non­ profit organizations and government agencies in support of the workforce needs of individuals and organizations in Morris County. The director ensures a positive student experience through personal efforts and supervision of staff on campus and satellite locations. The director manages the development, implementation and evaluation of noncredit courses and programs to meet the employment needs of individuals and businesses. The director ensures the department is a self-supporting area of the college, meeting established revenue targets.

Qualifications - Education

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications - Experience

5 years of experience in management and/or implementation of education and training programs with a proven track record of fiscal and personnel management and project accomplishment.

Qualifications - Skills

Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate complex ideas and activities to a broad audience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and related programs, excellent computer skills, good phone skills, customer service skills, attention to detail, self-motivated, good communications skills, ability to work under pressure, sensitivity in handling confidential information. Familiarity with external funding sources such as state and federal grants.

Work Hours

8:30-4:30 with nights and weekends required.
