Job Description The Department of Music at Radford University (VA) seeks dynamic applicants for the position of Director of Choral Activities at the rank of Assistant Professor. This highly qualified individual will direct and maintain outstanding choral ensembles, teach and oversee the choral music education track, teach and oversee sections of ear training, and perform other duties as needed by the department. A continuing record of appropriate professional and relevant service activities, along with active recruitment of prospective students, is expected for tenure and advancement. Required Qualifications Collegiate choral conducting experience and significant demonstrated success as an experienced educator in the public school environment. Proven success and leadership through organizational, motivational, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to relate well to a diverse group of students and faculty at the University and high school levels, is essential. A commitment to outreach and student recruitment, and, versatility to help meet needs within the department based on applicants' strengths is an expectation. A terminal degree in a related field of study. Preferred Qualifications A doctorate in choral conducting or music education is preferred.
