Director - Clean Plant Center Northwest
Summary of Duties
The Director will manage the day-to-day aspects of the Clean Plant Center Northwest (CPCNW), including supervision of line staff and assigning duties and responsibilities as required. The incumbent will make decisions regarding annual budgeting and expenditure, seeking to increase and diversify center revenue while serving the National Clean Plant Network (NCPN) and Washington State University (WSU) Land Grant missions. They will facilitate contractual services and ensure their completion, with responsibility for program operations and administration, and ensure the highest standard of plant material produced, following CPCNW Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Finally, the incumbent will represent the interests of the CPCNW and WSU to external stakeholders including propagators, growers, and state and federal regulators, and will assist with NCPN program coordination, education and outreach activities.
Additional Information
This is a full (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement.
Monthly Salary: $6,493.05 - $10,155.80 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications
Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and six (6) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which has included at least three (3) years of managerial experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Plant Pathology, Plant Sciences, or Horticulture
- Experience with state/federal plant regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of perennial propagation and cropping systems.
- Budget and fiscal management experience.
- Expertise in plant virology
