The Director is the principal advocate and ambassador for the evolving CHESS programs, articulating and promoting the scientific vision within the university and at the national and international levels. The Director is expected to maintain a presence on review panels and advisory boards, and to keep apprised of national and international developments in the fields of X-ray science and accelerator physics. Cornell seeks candidates with a PhD or equivalent, who are internationally-respected researchers in X-ray science or related areas. This stature would be reflected by a track record of creative and impactful research, effective leadership of large organizations and initiatives, engagement in education and training, notable awards and service, and sustained extramural funding consistent with a tenured faculty appointment. The candidate will share in Cornell's commitment toward ambitious, innovative, collaborative and inclusive research and education. Compensation This position is located in Ithaca, New York. The expected hiring salary is $250,000-$325,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and attainable faculty rank.
