Salary Range: Starting at $90,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary
The Director, Fiscal Administration provides high-level leadership, development and direction for the fiscal administration of assigned area. This role is responsible for leading the business services center staff and managing all finances for the college. This position is responsible for the oversight, efficiency, effectiveness and compliance of the fiscal operations of assigned large and complex area(s).
Core Responsibilities
- Manages and oversees large and complex operating budgets and reconciliations with multiple funding sources, while ensuring that a system of controls is in place that complies with State, System, and Institutional policies and procedures regarding fiscal management.
- Provides reconciliation oversight of operating budgets for divisions/ departments/units. Serves as the point of contact for other fiscal/budget personnel in the assigned area.
- Analyzes budgets and financial documentation and collaborates with departments to optimize budgets and the use of funds.
- Reviews funding sources, account expenditures, and reported use of funds to ensure compliance with restrictions, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Acts as a fiscal compliance officer by conducting audits of fiscal processes and procedures. Identifies appropriate financial internal controls and provides mechanisms to monitor, enforce compliance, and advises staff members on financial transactions and university policies and procedures.
- Assists senior management with developing budgets each year that match strategic initiatives, to include providing projections for income and expenses and developing reports for departments on an ongoing basis.
- Compiles data and prepares reports for accounting and fiscal management purposes, including responding to requests for reports from internal and external customers.
- Provides communication, training, guidance, and informational materials to staff regarding budget management, reporting, and reconciliation methods, and develops tools and reference materials for staff.
- Prioritizes, resolves problems and analyzes situations, and determines solutions; communicates with affected parties and follows up to ensure satisfactory resolution and implementation of systems to avoid repeated issues.
- Evaluates practices and proposes improvements to enhance service delivery capabilities for the use of fiscal resources, while leading change management in the process improvement cycle.
- Provides indirect leadership to team members by training new fiscal staff and by ensuring current staff understand new processes.
- Manages and coordinates contract and service agreement processing as appropriate.
- Loads or assists in loading annual budgets into the system.
- Assists executive management with special complex projects, including analysis of data, recommendations, etc.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Seven (7) years of related work experience.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- Experience working in higher education.
