The National Authority for Research organizes a competition for the position of director general at “Horia Hulubei” National Institute for Research and Development in Physics and Nuclear Engineering - IFIN-HH Bucharest, in accordance with the provisions of Romanian Government Decision No 743 of 18 September 2026 regarding the approval of the Methodology for the competition to fill the position of director general at national research and development institutes, published in the Official Journal of Romania, Part I No 804 of 22 September 2026.

The “Horia Hulubei” National Institute for Research and Development in Physics and Nuclear Engineering - IFIN-HH Bucharest is headquartered in the Town of Măgurele, 30 Reactorului Street, the County of Ilfov.

The field of activity/line of business is conducting fundamental, orientating and applied research, technological development and productive activities, services of strategic interest in its field and drafting of regulatory proposals of public and national interest concerning the fulfilment of the fundamental requirements imposed on nuclear physics and engineering, in accordance with the provisions of Romanian Government Decision No 1309/1996 on the establishment of the Horia Hulubei National Institute for Research and Development in Physics and Nuclear Engineering – IFIN-HH, published in the Official Journal of Romania, Part I no. 330 of 9 December 1996, as amended and supplemented.

The candidates must cumulatively satisfy the conditions for taking part in the competition as set out in art. 172 (1) of Law No 183/2024 regarding the status of research, development and innovation personnel, as amended and supplemented.

The necessary documents to apply for the competition are those provided in art. 9 of Romanian Government Decision No 743/2026 regarding the approval of the Methodology for the competition to fill the position of director general at national research and development institutes.

Competition schedule:

Deadline (date and time) for submission of competition documents: 12.11.2026, at 23:59.

Place for the interview: the headquarters of the National Authority for Research – Bucharest Municipality, 21-25 Mendeleev St., Sector 1, 3rd floor, room 301.

The information and documents related to the competition are available on the website of the “Horia Hulubei” National Institute for Research and Development in Physics and Nuclear Engineering - IFIN - HH Bucharest at https://www.nipne.ro/concurs_dg.php.

The results are to be published on the website of the National Authority for Research, based on the registration numbers assigned to the candidates on the online platform upon completion of their registration for the competition.
