JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: HCMC, Vietnam

Department: Vice President Academic, Innovation & Research

Report to: Vice President Academic, Innovation & Research, Millennia University

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director, Learning Technologies at Millennia Education is a senior role providing strategic and operational leadership for the Universities digital learning and assessment ecosystem. The role oversees the optimization of the learning management system (LMS), integration of educational technologies, student systems and other digital tools that support high quality student experiences.

The role ensures that technology-enhanced learning is innovative, inclusive, scalable and aligned with the university's vision and strategy. The Director is required to engage collaboratively with academic leaders, IT services, students and external vendors to deliver modern, seamless digital education experiences for students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Strategic Leadership
    • Lead the development and implementation of the university's Digital Learning Strategy
    • Provide high-level expertise on the identification and implementation of innovative technologies to support learning and assessment across the university
    • Champion student-centred and accessible practices across all technologies
    • Drive the embedding of appropriate AI tools in the curriculum including learning and assessment
    • Lead the implementation of a standard LMS framework for use in all courses of study
    • Advise on best practice and tools for online and hybrid learning spaces and experiences
  2. Faculty and Academic Support
    • Collaborate with Faculties and Departments to identify future focused and appropriate educational technologies for programs of study
    • Provide staff and student support for maintaining high standards for online and hybrid course experiences, advising on modern learning spaces and learning tools
    • Oversee the Learning Management System, multimedia production and other tools such as AI, VR, AR, XR
    • Collaborate with IT and external providers on maintaining and updating digital systems
  3. Student Success
    • Contribute to the establishment of Early Student Feedback within the LMS across all courses of study
    • Collaborate to identify mechanisms for data collection on student experiences and student outcomes to support student success and improve retention
  4. Quality Assurance and Data Security
    • Maintain compliance with data governance and cyber security requirements Collaborate with external parties to ensure data security in the Learning Management System

REQUIREMENTS

Qualification and Experience

  • Post Graduate degree in Educational Technology, Information Systems or a relevant field
  • Extensive experience leading digital learning initiatives in higher education
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing large scale Learning Management Systems (preferably Moodle)
  • Experience in advising on best practice for online and hybrid learning at university level

Key skills and Competencies

  • Visionary leadership with a record of successful innovation
  • Familiarity and experience with emerging trends such as AI, Vr, XR, adaptive learning and data driven education
  • Ability to smoothly integrate technology tools into the Learning Management System
  • Demonstrated ability to provide timely support to staff and students
  • Commitment to industry relevant and graduate ready technology and digital skills

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Introduction of a standard Learning Management System used across the university
  • Establishment of a program of study for academic staff digital uplift
  • Inclusion of accessibility standards in course curriculum development
  • Positive student feedback on digital learning experiences including LMS
  • Strong internal stakeholder relationships demonstrated by high service satisfaction levels
  • Alignment of graduate skills to industry requirements
