GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Admission is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of the college's admissions processes to support enrollment goals and student success. The Director develops and implements effective recruitment strategies, fosters relationships with regional high schools and community organizations, and ensures a student-centered admissions experience aligned with the college's mission to provide exceptional, accessible and relevant education to the benefit of all. Evening and weekend hours may be required.
DUTIES:
- Directs recruitment, outreach and college-readiness initiatives for potential students and coordinates activities with middle and high schools, businesses and other agencies.
- Coordination and oversight of strategic admission activities that include campus visits (both individual and group), high school visits, college fairs and campus open houses/student visit days.
- Coordinates dual enrollment and early college partnership programs with K-12 partner schools. Develops and monitors processes for students, teachers, counselors and administrators both internally and externally.
- Works cooperatively with faculty and staff on student recruitment and success using best practice models.
- Assists in monitoring enrollment projections from Institutional Research and Assessment for academic planning and budgeting purposes.
- Collaborates with Information Technology and Institutional Research and Assessment to maintain a system of data collection to assist in decision-making and benchmarking.
- Collaborates with Marketing and Communications to develop and implement marketing strategies for recruitment and outreach.
- Develops and monitors budgets related to recruitment and outreach.
- Collaborates with Student Services to coordinate new registration activities and monitor success indicators.
- Supervises the application process from inquiry to enrollment, ensuring timely communication, accurate data tracking, and outstanding customer service.
- Collaborates with Financial Aid, Student Services, Marketing and Academic Affairs to support the recruitment and onboarding of new students.
- Analyzes enrollment data and prepares regular reports on recruitment trends and application conversion rates in coordination with Enrollment Management.
- Oversees admissions policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state and college regulations.
- Represents the college at professional conferences and community events.
- Serves on college committees as assigned.
- Supervises, trains, and evaluates department staff; works with staff to assign responsibilities, determines department priorities and procedures, and ensures cross-training occurs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master of Arts in College Student Personnel or related discipline.
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in admissions or a related department in a higher education setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission of community colleges.
- Experience in providing supervision or leadership to admissions or a related department in a higher education setting.
