Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Director of Advising position. The Director of Advising works in collaboration with the Dean of Students to support vision, philosophy, and delivery of innovative and integrated student support through academic advising services. The Director is responsible for direct supervision of academic advising and transfer services teams. The Director will work collaboratively with the Dean of Students, the Executive Director of Enrollment Management, the Coordinator of Advising, and other College leadership to enhance enrollment management, retention, and onboarding of students through the academic advising process. Additionally, the Director provides support and leadership for student success initiatives related to strategic planning, advising philosophy, retention, and staff training and development.

This position requires the PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Check, and FBI Fingerprints as a condition of employment. This position has college-wide responsibilities and requires travel between all campuses and off-site locations, mainly at the Blue Bell campus. This position has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement, which can be ended at any time based on performance or institutional needs.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a related field required.
• Minimum 3-5 years administrative work experience required, preferably at a higher education institution.
• Supervisory and managerial experience working with unionized employees and work units preferred.
• Community college experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in planning and implementing special projects including grants and entrepreneurial opportunities preferred.
